Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. says it will expand its Diamond Willow wind farm near Baker, Mont., along the North Dakota border.
MDU says the expansion will add seven wind turbines on land the company leases.
The utility’s parent company, MDU Resources Group Inc., says it’s working on plans for a 19.5 megawatt wind project with 13 wind turbines about five miles west of Rhame, N.D., in Bowman County.
Both projects need approval from regulators. MDU says the projects will serve about 10,000 homes in Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota.
